There are 35 books on my to-watch list for October. That is more than one a day and doesn’t even count all the HWA releases this month, the great books that are young adult or thriller, or some niche gothics that I couldn’t classify as horror entirely. So, so many books to read!
The only problem (aside from not being able to read most of them) is that at times I go a little fast in this video. So, for the next few months I may experiment with only choosing 13 books that are the cream of the crop. Books with covers that make my eyes dance with delight; back jacket copy that rolls off the tongue and intrigues us like mad, books a horror fan can’t do without.
It is as hard as choosing which child to forfeit! So, for now here are 35 great books. We have a real mixed bag of covers, but loads of black on red; we have a nautical theme in at least three books – and desolate islands in-between; then of course a few VERY unique entires to the spooky season treat bag.
So…

I talk horror books; extreme horror, classic, slasher, gothic, and everything in between. Helping you find the next best horror book to read is the goal, and sharing new and old horror from my shelves and new releases is how! Horror, nonfiction and even true crime can be found here as I find that human beings are the scariest thing of all.
