Dark Gifts on a Dark Day • My Horror Birthday Haul!

Some amazing books were gifted to me or picked up while thrifting for my 49th birthday. My wonderful husband knows my tastes better than I do! Here we find some Bradbury, Brom, Ballingrud, Ballen, and more! We talk about the Stephen King series The Dark Tower, where I was slowly collecting the old Plume editions—and have now completed that. I suppose I’ll have to find the Scribner ones to finish it off next.

The biggest change is a new camera! I’ll be experimenting with this for a while, but so far, it looks great! Thank you, Chris, for this!

Birthdays are odd for me, being so close to Christmas. Many late-December Sagittarians may commiserate—how do you separate the holidays and your day? I often wish I could celebrate in January, but then, why not May? How about October! I’m very lucky to spend birthdays—now that I’m older—reading and relaxing, with a fine meal as a highlight. Then, more books!

As mentioned, I have updated the list of gear at the bottom of my bio page http://lydiapeever.ca

I talk horror books; extreme horror, classic, slasher, gothic, and everything in between. Helping you find the next best horror book to read is the goal, and sharing new and old horror from my shelves and new releases is how! Horror, nonfiction and even true crime can be found here as I find that human beings are the scariest thing of all.
