Late Winter Reading Catchup • Some Hits, Some Misses

  • by

Over the last month I was able to get into a few review copies, a potential Bram Stoker nominee, some of the books on the backward shelf, and plan my reading to come.

Two if the most popular books I got to – and loved – were Victorian Psycho by Virginia Fieto and This Wretched Valley by Jenny Kiefer. No wonder so many people had these on their reading list over the last few months! Really great work, on both counts. Reviews will be up on typicalbooks.com shortly.

I read the wonderful MrBallen graphic novel which was very fun and wonderfully illustrated. If you’ve not watched his channel and like the ‘strange, dark and mysterious’ I’d check it out.

After finishing an Eric LaRocca book I was not that keen on, I am looking forward to another. At Dark I Become Loathsome has had mixed reviews as well but there is nothing I like better than seeing a book out for myself.

Coming up I have Pressure by Jeff Strand and with luck, Little Eve by Catroina Ward as well.

I talk horror books; extreme horror, classic, slasher, gothic, and everything in between. Helping you find the next best horror book to read is the goal, and sharing new and old horror from my shelves and new releases is how! Horror, nonfiction and even true crime can be found here as I find that human beings are the scariest thing of all.
